Zoe’s Kitchen founder John Cassimus taps Oxford, MS for second location of Jinsei Sushi OXFORD, Miss.- Oxford has been chosen as the next site for Jinsei Sushi Bar and Lounge. Jinsei (pronounced Gin Say) was created by restaurateur John Cassimus, founder of fast-casual chain Zoe’s Kitchen now operating 83 locations nationally. Jinsei first opened in 2006 in Homewood, Ala. and is considered by many to be one of the finest authentic Japanese Sushi concepts in America, consistently providing the freshest sushi coupled with an atmosphere and champagne selection that rivals any restaurant in the country.

“Oxford is one of my favorite cities. James Beard award-winning Chef John Currence has created a dining jewel in the heart of the South with his restaurants. The locals, as well as, the diverse student body make Oxford the perfect spot for the next Jinsei location,” said Cassimus.

Jinsei is targeting a July 2013 opening date. The location will be in Mid-Town at 713 North Lamar Boulevard. The menu features Japanese inspired cuisine and the highest quality sushi served with a quaint Southern flare along with made from scratch cocktails like the Cucumber Mojito and hand-pressed Watermelon Margarita. Jinsei has appeared in publications such as Food and Wine and was recently named “Best Sushi in Alabama” by several Alabama publications.

Jinsei is committed to serving the highest quality sushi and skillfully crafted cocktails in an atmosphere that is as exciting and unique as the individuals that loyally support our brand.
